#OOTD - White Coat Edition: Business Casual Outfit Ideas for Medical School

Since I last posted, I've been itching to get a blog post up because it actually is such a good outlet for stress. You know, writing about how I can spruce up my white coat wardrobe is so much better than looking over First Aid. Don't get me wrong, I know I have to study hardy BUT I have to take my breaks too - AMIRIGHT?!

Previously, I struggled with how I would still continue to add personal style while dressing professionally. I wondered "would this outfit be okay?" or "will people say something about it?". In the end, what I learned is that keeping the outfit conservative and comfortable, is key. Conservative styles are better because it keeps things professionals - you know those skirts that are too short or the blouses with the too-low neckline? Save it for a different day. Comfortable is also better because lets face it, sometimes we end up wearing these outfits the entire day - and there is nothing like those pants that are just too tight and you can't move freely.

One of my favorite go-to pieces lately is this jogger from Banana Republic Outlet. The material is similar to those of regular slacks - so it still gives a professional look! Not your typical cotton joggers. These are perfect for your white coat wardrobe (or any business casual outfit).

As for shoes, I love wearing these booties because the heels are not too high. Still comfortable for walking around all day, while making the outfit polished. These are faux suede booties from Zara.

Lastly, as you saw in the pictures above I keep my accessories minimal. That way, they're not dangling and getting in the way or even interfering with my stethoscope. Definitely don't want to be fumbling around while in the exam room!
